Challenge

Robin Hood, New York City's largest poverty-fighting philanthropy, was struggling with inefficient manual processes for managing grants and donations in Salesforce and Sage Intacct. The finance team was spending significant time manually entering records and reconciling data between the two systems.

This led to delays in grant appropriations, taking up to 30 days, and slow payment processing, often requiring two to three weeks. The lag meant community partners were not receiving critical funding in a timely manner. Robin Hood realized they needed to automate and integrate these key processes in order to operate more efficiently and better serve their community partners.

Solution

Robin Hood engaged Venn Technology to integrate their Salesforce and Sage Intacct systems, allowing grant and donation data to flow seamlessly between them. Venn worked closely with the Robin Hood team to understand their unique business processes and restructure their Salesforce environment to better manage grants.

The integration automatically syncs grant information from Salesforce to Intacct's AP module, enabling the swift and accurate booking of approved grants. On the revenue side, donation data now flows directly from Salesforce into Intacct upon receipt. Venn provided guidance and best practices throughout the project to ensure a smooth transition.
