Hired is a video series that gets new team members' take on what their first 30 days on the job are like at Venn.
Meet Josh Soberanis, Account Executive at Venn. We ask him all the big questions every job applicant and new recruit needs to hear—from company culture to role-specific opportunities.
What do I like about my position so far? I like being able to, number one, get to work in this super cool space, right?
We get to work with some of the most high-tech technology. We're working with best-of-breed systems like Salesforce, like Sage Intacct.
We're doing things that most others just can't do, right. And the impact of what we're doing actually allows our customers to spend less time in spreadsheets, spend more time at their kids' soccer game or on the golf course, or doing what they do best in their business and driving their career.
And I think that's just—that's not something you can sell every day. And the fact that we can do that and impact lives the way that we do makes this a lot of fun.
Absolutely. Everybody's been super welcoming. I always talk about how in the first five minutes of my first day, I felt like, wow, this company had everything squared away and ready for me.
I came, I went to my desk. I was led there, and it was just covered in swag. All these top-tier amazing gifts, from the Venn team, from the operations team, as well as our founder and CEO, Scott, who I've learned is a big gift giver. And that was kind of a nod to that spirit.
And so between that, between having my MacBook set up ready to go, my corporate card ready to go, all these little thoughtful things and the things that somebody knew I needed to do my job well.
Being ready on day one made me feel so welcomed, and it’s been like that ever since.
I love the company culture. We obviously work super hard. We have some brilliant people working here at Venn, and we drive business results. That's obvious and apparent, but beyond that, we have fun while doing it.
I got to experience our company culture firsthand last week during our hackathon. There's so much fun that was to be had, but also a lot of things learned in between. Getting to be collaborative and working outside of our desks, in our little spaces, just made for such a fun time, and again, it was really a testament to the culture that's been built here at Venn.
Yeah. One thing that surprised me is just the spirit that kind of inhabits this place. I would say it goes beyond culture. Right? It's—you know, Scott Hollrah, our Founder and CEO, genuinely cares about our customers. He cares about his employees. And that extends to every member of the leadership team that I've talked to as well.
It's cool that every meeting that we go to, there is that spirit there. There is that—it kind of leads how we act, how we work, how we work together. And that's been something I've never experienced before, but certainly a pleasant surprise.
Yeah, definitely. Definitely feel like I have the resources to be successful. Beyond having, you know, the MacBook that we get to work in, beyond having the standing desk that keeps me from, you know, doing the new smoking and sitting eight hours a day.
We have the technology that I need to be successful as a salesperson. We have, you know, the tools I need to find my prospects, to automate my sequences. Right? We not only sell automation and not only sell technology, but we're huge proponents of it and use it in our day-to-day.
And it's been awesome.
There's a lot of things. I think number one, there's this bold new initiative to start outbound selling here at Venn. And so understanding what's on the line, it's definitely a heavy weight on your shoulders if you let it be. But it's a huge motivator to know that I can make a difference. That it all rests on not just me, but that I'm going to drive a significant portion of that. That really motivates me to come and make that difference every day.
Yeah. So, if you're looking at Venn Technology as a potential employer, if you're looking at a new career, this is an awesome place to build your career, an awesome place to be around great leaders and great people who are going to make you smarter and better every day. And just a fun place to work.
