How do I start a career in the Salesforce ecosystem?

Want to start a stellar career in the Salesforce ecosystem? Don’t know where to start? Check out today’s Venn in 60 Seconds for Scott Hollrah’s take:

Boy, this is a big topic. And we have LOTS to say about it, but per usual, our advice starts with a lot more questions. Like, what kind of work do you want to do? Do you want to work for a large consulting firm, a mid-sized company, or a boutique? What kind of clients do you want to have? What kind of projects do you want to work on.

With a little research to understand what your long-term career looks like, it’s important to start getting experience and eventually some certifications. The best place to start is to create a free account with Salesforce’s Trailhead platform, a sandbox where you can play around, blow it up, and nothing bad will happen. They’ll even grade your work and give you feedback on how to improve.

Once you have some experience, give us a call. We’d love to connect and either point you in the right direction, or if we have an open position, give you a shot at it.

Want to learn more or even work at Venn (hint: yes, yes you do!), check out our hiring page to see open positions.

Bjørn hails from Tallinn, Estonia, and wears multiple hats here at Venn (mostly fur). He's got a knack for making the right connections and having the right conversations—which, in our business—is the name of the game. He's a blast to have around the office and brings a fresh new perspective to the party. Now, if we can only get him to leave the thermostat alone (55° is a tad low for us Texans).
