Job Description

The Director of Sales will hold a seat on the Leadership Team and be responsible for leading and managing the sales team to achieve and exceed sales targets. This role involves overseeing sales management, pipeline management, and ensuring the successful implementation of sales processes. The Director of Sales will set annual, quarterly, and monthly targets and quotas, define expectations around sales activity, and manage outbound prospecting efforts. This position applies to both new and existing customers, ensuring accurate scoping and contracting and setting the delivery team up for successful and profitable projects.
Key Responsibilities:
Sales Management & Leadership
Lead, mentor, and manage the sales team to achieve and exceed sales targets. Define and enforce sales processes to ensure consistency and efficiency. Set clear expectations around sales activities, including outbound prospecting and conference attendance.
Partnership Growth & Management
- Oversee Partner Program
- Build and maintain strategic relationships with key partners to ensure alignment on revenue goals and go-to-market strategies.
- Establish partner performance metrics and monitor partner-sourced pipeline and revenue contribution.
- Oversee partner enablement programs to ensure partners are equipped to effectively represent and sell the company’s solutions.
- Design competitive commission structures and incentive programs to drive partner engagement and performance.
- Conduct regular reviews of partner agreements to ensure mutual benefit and maximum growth potential.
- Coordinate with the sales team to effectively manage partner-sourced opportunities and prevent channel conflicts.
- Recruit and build a world class sales team.
Pipeline Management:
- Develop and maintain a robust sales pipeline to ensure a steady flow of opportunities.
- Monitor and report on sales performance metrics, adjusting strategies as needed.
- Target Setting & Quotas:
- Establish annual, quarterly, and monthly sales targets and quotas.
- Communicate targets effectively to the sales team and ensure alignment with company goals.
- Monitor and optimize sales incentive programs to ensure alignment with company revenue goals and product strategy.
- Create and manage SPIFs and other short-term incentive programs to drive focus on strategic initiatives or product launches.
- Regular review and adjustment of compensation plans to maintain market competitiveness and sales team retention.
Customer Engagement:
- Define and enforce internal service level agreements (SLAs) regarding prospect touchpoints and response times.
- Ensure the sales team is effectively engaging with both net new and existing customers.
Contracting & Negotiation:
- Oversee accurate scoping and contracting processes to ensure project success and profitability.
- Manage contract term negotiations to align with company objectives and customer needs.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure sales efforts are aligned with overall company strategy.
- Communicate sales performance, challenges, and opportunities to senior management.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field.
- Proven experience in sales leadership and management roles in SaaS and/or professional services organizations.
- Strong understanding of pipeline management and sales processes.
- Excellent negotiation and contract management skills.
- Ability to set and achieve sales targets and quotas.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Experience with CRM software and sales analytics tools.

Location
We are hiring for a full-time consultant to be located within our Grapevine, Texas office. Relocation compensation is not available. The position will require occasional travel to visit client sites within the DFW metroplex and other cities across the US.

Must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Venn Technology does NOT provide sponsorship now or in foreseeable in the future.
