If you are Ankur, your day is full of learning how clients use Salesforce and delivering the right solutions for their unique use cases. Keep reading to find out how Ankur spends his time as a Salesforce Consultant at Venn.
When I get to work every morning, I set up my laptop and get myself situated at my desk. I’ll read through Slack messages and emails I might’ve missed from the day before. I then check my schedule to decide what tasks need to be done for client projects I’m working on.
About an hour into work, I enjoy making a latte with the espresso machine we have at the office. Then, after grabbing a snack, I’m back at my desk to help clients custom-fit their Salesforce environment.
I started working as a Salesforce Consultant here at Venn a few months ago. After some time assisting other consultants and working through Trailhead certifications, I’m now on five client projects at this moment.
My role now is slightly different from my last job as a Salesforce Developer. Before, I was doing a lot of heads-down tasks, like coding, and rarely speaking with the end-user.
I’ve enjoyed the different client calls I’ve been on. Each of our clients comes from different industries and has different business models, so they often bring problems to the table that are unique and a good challenge for me.
My goal is to help clients find solutions for Salesforce-related problems. This could be assisting someone with setting up Sales Cloud, CPQ, etc. We always start by gathering a list of requirements from the client, and then we identify what tasks need to be done to build the solution for them.
There are some people who come to us and already understand most of Salesforce’s capabilities, but for the ones that aren’t as tech-savvy, I enjoy getting to teach them new tools and how to utilize their CRM to make their jobs a lot easier.
Every day is different, which I love. I haven’t had the sense of being overwhelmed with tasks and there’s enough downtime for me to work on certifications and training that help me do my job better.
The culture here is my favorite, and it seems to be an important aspect for Venn. Our office is pretty casual, nobody has to dress in a suit before coming to work every day. You also get the laid-back feeling by being around team members too. Everyone does a good job of taking their work seriously, but we all know when a break is needed.
Whenever I have time off, I enjoy traveling to see friends—either in Austin or San Antonio. I’m a big foodie, so one of my favorite things to do is stop by a new restaurant and try different things. Other than that, I enjoy my gym routine before work. I also love collecting new sneakers and athletic shoes—got to have the right shoe for any situation.
Ankur loves trying different cuisines and traveling to different places in Texas—we see you Buc-ee!
