Hired is a video series that gets new team members' take on what their first 30 days on the job are like at Venn.

Meet Lacey Weaver, Developer at Venn Technology. We ask her all the big questions every job applicant and new recruit needs to hear—from company culture to role-specific opportunities.

What do you like about your position so far?

I think the part that I like most about my position is that every day is a new challenge. I never know exactly what I'm going to be walking into, but I know that there's going to be a problem that I can solve. I also enjoy bouncing ideas between me and other members of the team in the process of finding a solution.

Do you feel welcomed by the team?

I’ve felt welcomed by the team since my first interview for the role. When I came in for the in-office visit, even before I was hired, everybody in the office was really warm, welcoming, and made an effort to speak with me.

What do you think about the company culture?

The company culture is definitely what drew me in to apply. What Venn shows online is truly who they are. It is a very unique and kind of special place to work. It's not just the employees who really make this culture what it is, but it's also the management team that really drives to make sure that everybody has what they need and enjoys their responsibilities.

Has anything surprised you since joining the team?

I think the one thing that surprised me the most within my first 30 days was that not only is everybody really hard working here, but they also make time for us to have a good time and connect more with each other.

Do you feel like you have the resources to be successful?

Since I've been here, if there was anything that I had questions about or I felt like I was lacking, I simply just had to ask my supervisor or somebody else in the office and they made sure that I had what I needed.

What motivates you to keep coming to work every day?

I like that there is always something new to learn and there are constant brain teasers in my role. My responsibilities end up being more like a fun puzzle that I get to solve every day rather than actually coming in and having to do stuffy work.
